By definition “raw honey” is honey that comes directly from the beehive and is not heated over the natural temperature of the beehive, pasteurized or processed. āFER Honey is 100% organic and raw so you can enjoy it the way nature intended.
Yes. All honey is in its natural form liquid when it comes from the beehive although with time it can start to crystallize. This is natural for all raw and unprocessed honey.
Honey is the only food that never spoils. In fact, the oldest known sample of honey, found in an ancient Egyptian tomb and dated to approximately 3000 years ago, is still perfectly edible. However, unlike wine, honey usually tastes best a few years after harvesting, there is no maturation to enhance flavor.
Although honey never spoils, we mark an expiration date to all our jars, but that date is simply to meet regulations.

If you see signs of crystallization and you would like to return your honey back to liquid form, simply place the jar to a warm place (for example into a bowl filled with hot water). Be careful not to overheat over 104 F because too much heat decreases the quality and natural benefits of our honey.
To avoid crystallization store honey at room temperature, away from direct sunlight. Always make sure that the lid is placed properly on the jar as honey loses aroma and flavor and absorbs moisture and odors when exposed to air.

If you do not use our honey within a few months, or your honey is stored in cold temperatures you will notice that it starts turning into a more solid state. Do not worry – this is a natural process called crystallization and shows the high quality of the honey.
Honey sometimes contains spores of a bacteria called Clostridium botulinum, which can germinate in a baby's immature digestive system and cause infant botulism, a rare but potentially fatal illness. These bacteria are harmless to older kids and adults because their mature digestive systems can move the spores through the body before they cause any harm.
